01 — Body Acupuncture

02 — Electro Acupuncture

As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted at very specific points on the body. The needles are then attached to a device that delivers continuous electric pulses between two needles so that the impulse can pass from one needle to the other.

03 — Battlefield Acupuncture

Innovative pain management protocol developed by Dr. Niemtzow that involves inserting small needles into the ear that deliver significant pain relief in just a few minutes. The length of the pain-free period varies from minutes, hours, days, weeks, and months depending on the condition.

Corinna McFarlane and Jeff McMackin, owners and practitioners of Blue Mountain Acupuncture Clinic, are currently the only two acupuncturists practicing Battlefield Acupuncture in Canada.

04 — National Acupuncture Detoxification Association ear protocal (NADA)

05 - Scalp Acupuncture

Chinese scalp acupuncture is a contemporary acupuncture technique integrating traditional Chinese needling methods with Western medical knowledge of representative areas of the cerebral cortex. It is a most effective technique for treating acute and chronic central nervous system disorders.

Scalp acupuncture often produces remarkable results with just a few needles and brings about immediate improvement, sometimes taking only several seconds to a minute.

07 — Tui na Massage

Tuina is a vigorous form of massage that uses therapeutic manipulations to affect not only the muscles and joints, but also the flow of energy in the body. It stimulates specific points along the energy channels.

Gua sha

A friction like massage used to treat a number of conditions. It moves stuck blood, promoting normal circulation to the muscles, tissues, and organs directly beneath the surface treated. It is great for stubborn, chronic pain conditions.

Cupping

Involves placing glass cups directly to the skin over certain acupuncture points as well as to specific muscles that are affected by pain. It is recommended for the treatment of pain, gastro-intestinal disorders, respiratory diseases (especially chronic cough and asthma), gynecological conditions, and the common cold.

Moxibustion

An ancient method of applying a heat stimulus to the body by burning the dried and sifted leaf particles from the herb mugwort on or close to the skin. The aim is to free Qi and blood, dispersing cold, eliminating dampness and warming yang. Used in conjunction with acupuncture, it can help to treat a number of diseases, chronic pain conditions and immune disorders.
